Monsoon always brings a lot more pleasure with lively spell of rain. After all, it’s always heartening to immerse in rain after scorching summer. Such a beautiful atmosphere rain creates that definitely arouses great exhilaration in us. And what’s better than gorging on some hot cuisines monsoon has to offer? Just imagine roasted maize, hot tea, samosa, bhajiya, kachori and slurping hot soup! However, in this dampening season, one must take extra care when it comes to opting for food as our body becomes more susceptible to health issues. To maintain healthy diet, here’s a list of nutritional tips especially for monsoon! Always eat fruits that help you boost up energy such as apples, pomegranates, pear and bananas.

Try to avoid medium to heavy salty food as they are susceptible for water retention and blood pressure issue.

Having too much water foods such as muskmelon, lassi etc might create swelling. So it’s better to eat dry food such as chick pea, brown rice, oats, barley, gram flour, corn to name a few.

It’s good to have almonds and yogurt in your diet plan in lieu of milk. And most importantly, drink only purified or boiled water to protect against harmful germs.

In rainy days, eating bitter veggies like methi, bitter gourd, turmeric etc helps in fighting against infections. Add to more, consuming drying oils such as corn oil is better than mustard and peanut oil.
